Population Genomics

The AfriPopGen and Human Variation CoSI is a forum for exchange and collaboration among students, postdocs, and senior researchers with a special interest in population genomics and variant interpretation relevant to African populations.

This CoSI was launched during the 2017 ISCB-Africa ASBCB conference in Entebbe, Uganda. So far, we have had webinars on the current status of population genomics and human variation research in Africa as well as the Southern African population structure. We hope to continue our exciting webinar and training series and to work on publishable research work in the near future.

The CoSI maintains a Twitter account (@AfriPopGen) as well as a google group and slack channel under the ASBCB for communication.

Joining the AfriPopGen and Human Variation CoSI is free of charge but we do encourage you to become a member of the African Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ASBCB).
